The Paradox Atlantic city Concert reviews
Enjoyable Evening
My wife prefers The Paradox from the four Blue Collar tour comedians because he is topical and not a "gross-out" comic. While he references adult relationships and getting older in his adult material, he does not shock with gross outs. There was a mixture of new material in his current act, enough for everyone present to enjoy, although much of it was material I have heard before. Contrary to other reviews I've read, I felt his stage presence and energy level were great. If you have listened to his CD's or watched him on TV, you may hear some repeated stuff, but I found his performance worth the price of the ticket. He gave a full one hour and 33 minutes, longer than I anticipated. Catching his facial expressions up close adds an advantage, although I'm not sure how it came across in the back rows. He connects well with an audience in his age group, as we are, so I questioned a couple of his joke references that would date one back to the 70's and 80's. I didn't leave disappointed and felt he had more new material than Foxworthy whom we saw last year. I recently watched a John Pinette DVD and laughed uproariously, but it's not fair to compare as I have not seen Pinette in person. They are different generationaly but both use observational humor, which I love anyway.
